Nestlé Healthy Kids Global Program is one of our Creating Shared Value (CSV) activities. It aims to provide a comprehensive nutritional education, including knowledge of nutrition, hygiene and the environment, as well as physical activities for elementary school students. We work closely with the District Education Department, Yayasan Kusuma Buana and a team of experts from the Indonesian Medical Nutrition Society (PDGMI), in line with the mission of Nestlé Indonesia of Participating to Achieve Better Public Health.
Through this program, children are encouraged to adopt clean, healthy lifestyles and lead an active everyday life. This program collects data from schools such as numbers of cases of anemia and worm infections, as well as weight and height measurements. Supporting training sessions for teachers and principals uses 12 modules on topics like nutrition, food, personal and environmental hygiene, and physical activity.
Nestlé Healthy Kids Global Program began as a pilot project in mid 2010, with seven primary schools. It has now been implemented in 31 elementary schools across Indonesia, reaching more than 8000 students and involving 400 primary school teachers.
